Mathilde Piard is a journalist whose stories and multimedia pieces have appeared on nytimes.com, villagevoice.com, the New York Post and other websites, wires and publications. She is currently the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund online editing intern at the Palm Beach Post in Florida.

During the spring of 2008, she reported for, produced and edited nyc24.com, an online magazine. She recently completed insidehomebirth.com, a website about women who choose to give birth at home, as her Master's Project for her M.S. degree at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She also holds a M.A. in international relations from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

Before graduate school, she worked and interned for various non-profit and media organizations, including the Agence France-Presse and BBC News. She has lived in Japan, France, the U.K., Germany, Belgium, Kenya and the U.S.
